PBAT Addressing the Governors in New Year 2025

*We are to build a nation.*

*We have the confidence and competence.*

*The enslavers want to enslave Nigeria and Nigerians, but we say NO.*

*We are determined, capable, and resolute, and we will be there*

(PBAT - 2/01/2025)

"Our administration has been encouraged by the National Assembly's support over the last 19 months, and we are determined to take Nigeria to the Promised Land.

I conveyed this to the members of the National Assembly and former principal officers led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Tajudeen Abass, at my residence in Lagos today.

We are to build a nation. We have the confidence and competence.

The enslavers want us to be anything but enslaved people, but we say NO.

We are determined, capable, and resolute, and we will be there.

I am confident that our shared vision, unwavering commitment, and strong collaboration will pave the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for our nation, Nigeria.

As President of our great nation, Nigeria, I will keep working harder, embracing intellectual inquisitiveness, and making courageous decisions for national development.

With the support of the National Assembly, we will take Nigeria to that Promised Land.

"We have to work harder, grow more, and ensure the situation of our currency improves. Nigeria will see prosperity, but it requires consistent effort from all of us.”

This was my message to the leaders and representatives of the Nigeria Governors Forum this afternoon in Lagos.

I also emphasised the importance of collaboration and encouraged our governors to take pride in their efforts while recognising the progress made across the states.

The states of the Federation play a critical role in driving Nigeria's prosperity and development.

The agricultural value chain, for instance, hinges on the contributions of the States. With ownership of the land, States hold the key to achieving food security.

Since our administration took office, the improvements in revenue allocations have empowered our federating states even more.

I urged them to strategically invest these resources into further development at the grassroots to meet the aspirations of all Nigerians.

Together, we can build a Nigeria we are all proud of."
