Electoral Law 2026: Separating Fact from Fiction

Some opposition groups are spreading confusion about the new Electoral Law 2026, fueled by misinformation and a refusal to understand its provisions.

The law combines BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System) and Form EC8A to make election rigging nearly impossible and easily detectable in court.

*So, why the opposition's fierce resistance?* πŸ€”

They're fighting to preserve the status quo, hiding behind the issue of real-time electronic transmission, which is already part of the law.

Meaning that real-time electronic transmission is already part of the new electoral law 2026, plus Proviso backup plan where network failed for Realtime Transmission.

*Hidden Agenda of the Selfish Opposition*

The opposition is selectively objecting to the backup proviso, which states that if the network fails, the unit votes are deemed failed, with a chain reaction of annulling such elections nationwide.

*The Opposition's Stance*

The opposition is essentially saying that if the network fails, the entire election should be annulled nationwide - *Now you see their plan*

This is a clear attempt to undermine the electoral process and maintain their grip on power - all Nigerians should wake up to this realization and the malicious plots of the selfish opposition.

*The Truth*

The new law has provisions for real-time electronic transmission and a backup plan in case of network failure. It's time to set the record straight and ensure Nigerians understand the law.

Opposition's Futile Protest: A Distraction from Electoral Preparations

The opposition's recent press conferences protesting a bill that's already been signed into law are a stark reminder of their lack of strategy and focus. πŸ€”

Instead of planning for their upcoming convention and election, they're wasting time arguing with a fait accompli.

With their few remaining, yet-to-decamp members in the National Assembly, repealing the law is a pipe dream – it's like trying to administer medicine after death.

*The Chaos Agenda*

It seems the opposition is more interested in causing chaos than engaging in constructive politics.

They're willing to destabilize Nigerian democracy, hoping to gain an advantage.

This confusion is being peddled by supposed leaders, claiming they'll block the law's implementation.

But how do they plan to achieve this?

Do they think they're above the law and can toy with Nigeria's institutions? πŸ˜•

*Recommendations*

- Opposition should focus on preparing for elections rather than protesting futilely.

- Engage in constructive dialogue with the government to address concerns.

- Prioritize Nigerians' interests over personal or party agendas.

*Conclusion*

Nigeria's democracy is bigger than any individual or group.

The opposition's antics will only harm the country's progress.

It's time for leaders to put Nigerians first and work towards a better future. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬

Japa Syndrome: Think Twice Before You Leap

Many Nigerians are considering leaving the country, but have you thought it through? πŸ€” Often, people don't listen until it's too late. They sell everything, jump on a plane, and realize life abroad isn't as rosy as they thought.

Shame and financial struggles can make it hard to return.

*Nigeria Has Its Advantages*

1. *Healthcare*: Waiting times for medical treatment can stretch for months abroad. In Nigeria, you can get treated faster. For instance, a certain medical scan costs $9,000 (over N12 million) abroad, but only N67,000 in Nigeria. Medical tourism is booming here for a reason! πŸ₯

2. *Taxes*: If you're on a tight budget, Nigeria's got you. Tax for the poor is 0%, while abroad it can be as high as 40%.

3. *Affordable Living*: House rent abroad can take up to a third of your salary or more. In Nigeria, you can live comfortably without breaking the bank.

*A Final Note*

If you're set on japa, go for it – but know that it's not a guarantee. It might be your destiny, or it might not.

Either way, think carefully before making a decision that'll affect your life.

Wishing you all the best on your journey, whatever you decide 🌟.

Insurgencies - Comparing Bourkinafasso and Nigeria

Above πŸ‘† is AI Generated Misinformation that the malicious groups are spreading online to Deceive Nigerians - Depicting Bourkinafasso Insurgency Free While Sympathizing for Nigeria*

But in reality, complete opposite is the truth, which can be factchecked online, below are the facts and figures that can be easily verified online.

*Rank:* Bourkinafasso rank number 1 in insurgency attacks compare to Nigeria which is ranked number 6.

*Siege:* About 130 Town and villages under the control of terrorists in Bourkinafasso, including their capital city waiting to be conquered by terrorists - none in Nigeria

*Breakdown*

*The Scale of the Crisis*

*Burkina Faso:* Currently rank number 1 in global epicenter of terrorism, Burkina Faso is ranked as the most affected country by terrorism worldwide

Deaths have tripled since 2021, with over 20,000 fatalities and approximately 2.1 to 3 million people displaced (roughly 10% of the population).

*Nigeria:* While still highly impacted,

Nigeria ranks 6th globally. Its conflict is more geographically contained than Burkina Faso's, primarily affecting the North East (Boko Haram/ISWAP) and North West (banditry), though jihadists recently claimed their first attack in Kwara

*Political Stability:

*In Burkina Faso*, the insurgency caused a total collapse of civilian rule, leading to two military coups in 2022. The current junta has suspended political parties and ruled by decree through 2026.

*Nigeria* remains a democracy despite its security challenges, using constitutional transitions to manage its crisis.

*International Alliances:*

*Burkina Faso* has severed ties with France and the US, pivoting toward Russia (Wagner/Africa Corps) and forming the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

*Nigeria* maintains deep security partnerships with the United States and ECOWAS, recently discussing new anti-terror finance and training initiatives in early 2026.

*Military Strategy:

*Burkina Faso* relies heavily on the VDP (Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland because no money to fund massive military intervention, the scale of Nigeria). A massive civilian auxiliary force that has been both a critical defense and a target of insurgent massacres.

*Nigeria* employs a much larger, formal military (over 230,000 personnel) with significant air power and naval strength that far outclasses the Burkinabe forces.

*Territorial Control:*

*Burkina Faso* Insurgents contest or control between 40% - 60% of the national territory, including 130 towns and villages and have encircled the capital, Ouagadougou - waiting to capture the capital and the military juntas.

*Nigeria* Bandits and Terrorists have over 20 operating bases but the state maintains control over the vast majority of its landmass and all major urban centers.

If the storyline is true and  PBAT had taken such an audacious decision, it means  we are up to an uprecedent leadership with zero tolerance for corrupt practices, considering the past similar issues with Beta Edu made to resign in just 6 months of ministerial position.

*Other Speculations about Why Kayode Egbetokun, the former Inspector-General of Police, was asked to resign by President Bola Tinubu for three main reasons:*

- *Opposition to State Policing*: Egbetokun disagreed with the creation of state-controlled police forces, arguing that Nigeria wasn't ready for the system and that governors could misuse it for personal gain, contradicting President Tinubu's stance on state policing.

- *Slow Compliance with Presidential Directive*: Egbetokun failed to effectively implement President Tinubu's order to withdraw police officers providing security to VIPs, transferring the responsibility to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

- *Harassment of Journalists*: Egbetokun was blacklisted by the International Press Institute Nigeria due to the harassment of 24 journalists under his leadership, with little corrective action taken, embarrassing the presidency.

Egbetokun officially cited "pressing family considerations" as the reason for his resignation, but sources within the presidency revealed that he was asked to step down during a meeting with President Tinubu.

Distinguished Frank Mba is the most favored Police officer in NPF

*Distinguished Frank Mba is the most favored Police officer in NPF*

He was given double promotions within 4 months in 2023 (AIG in March, and DIG in June), overtaking his seniors in ranks, *a record that raised eyebrows* - you can factcheck this online.

I don't agree with anyone saying that Nigeria has happened to him because he wasn't appointed the IG.

To be retired, there are 8 serving DIGs in NPF, he's not alone.

4 from the Hausa. 2 Yoruba. 1 Delta. 1 Igbo.

The president has his reasons for his choice of appointments.

*Nobody questioned if Vice Admiral Ikechukwu Ogalla was the highest ranking in Nigeria Navy when he was appointed the Chief of Naval Staff.*

*Nobody questioned if Air Marshal Sunday Aneke was the highest ranking in Air Force when he was appointed the Chief of Air Staff. Two Enugu Sons.*

Because the President didn't appoint another Enugu man the IG of police doesn't make him Nepotistic, he has been fair in his appointments of Service Chiefs

DIG Frank Mba maybe the best IG of police we never had but we shouldn't play the victim cards at all times.

I don’t understand why some people are crying as if Nigeria will collapse because one person was not appointed.

So because Frank Mba was not made Inspector-General, the whole country should go on strike? Is he the only DIG in Nigeria? Are there not 8 DIGs the President could choose from?

We have Frank Mba (Enugu), Mohammed Usaini Gumel (Jigawa), Adebola Ayinde Hamzat (Kwara), Yahaya Abubakar (Niger), Basil Okuoma Idegwu (Delta), Bzigu Yakubu Kwazhi (Adamawa), Sadiq Idris Abubakar (Kano), and Adebowale Williams (Ogun).

Those who have four are not shouting. The Delta people is not threatening anybody. But the people who have one are acting as if Nigeria belongs to them alone.

Leadership is not by entitlement. It is not by emotion. It is not by noise.

The President has constitutional powers to appoint whoever he deems fit as Inspector-General. If he chooses from the DIGs, fine. If he decides to appoint an AIG instead, that is within his authority.

If you want to wipe your tears, wipe them. If you don’t want to wipe them, that is your choice. Government will continue to function.

IGBOS, IF WE WANT POWER IN NIGERIA, WE MUST UNDERSTAND POWER.

Before you start reading, I want you to take a very good look at this picture.

What do you see?

In that picture is the secret of political power.

*You cannot insult Nigeria in the morning and expect to become President at night.*

*You cannot call the country a zoo and expect to become Inspector General of Police tomorrow.*

Politics is not therapy.

It is alignment.

Let’s speak facts.

Since 1999, Nigeria has had Presidents from the:

• South-West – Olusegun Obasanjo

• North-West – Umaru Musa Yar'Adua

• South-South – Goodluck Jonathan

• North-West – Muhammadu Buhari

• South-West – Bola Ahmed Tinubu

*Power in Nigeria rotates through negotiation, coalition, and elite consensus — not anger nor sense of entitlement.*

Even during the First Republic, Nnamdi Azikiwe became President in 1963 not by isolation, but through alliance with the Northern People's Congress.

Politics is mathematics.

You cannot openly despise:

• The President

• The ruling party

• The Nigerian state

And still expect federal appointments, security leadership, or presidential tickets.

*Who do we think we're?*

Is it that most of us are duΓΌuumb or we're pretending to be so?

Don't you know you can't eat your cake and have it?

*You can't make yourself an enemy of everyone and expect everyone to ENTRUST their safety to you.*

*Are we actually okay as we think we are?*

That is not how power works anywhere in the world.

The Yorubas negotiated.

The North consolidates.

The South-South aligned.

But many Igbos?

We want moral victory instead of strategic victory.

You don’t win power by emotional speeches.

You win power by building bridges — even with people you disagree with.

Do you think Hausa/Fulani and Yorubas love each other?

Never!

But they've found a way to work together.

If you want:

• President

• Senate President

• Service Chiefs

• Police IG

• Real federal influence

Then build alliances.

Join structures.

Influence from inside.

*Politics is not about who shouts the loudest.*

It is about who sits at the table when decisions are made.

You cannot hate the system and expect the system to reward you.

Power respects strategy — not sentiment.

If this offends you, good.

Serious conversations are never comfortable.

Nigeria is not going anywhere.

*The question is: Will we master the game — Or keep complaining about the referees?*

PRESIDENT TINUBU TO SENATORS: TINKER WITH THE CONSTITUTION TO ACCOMMODATE STATE POLICE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday appealed to the leadership of the 10th Senate to amend the constitution to provide a legal framework for the establishment of State Police to tackle insecurity nationwide.

President Tinubu made the appeal during an interfaith breakfast with senators at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The President said that the creation of State Police has become urgent to address Nigeria’s evolving security challenges, strengthen grassroots policing, and enhance states' capacity to respond swiftly to threats within their jurisdictions.

He noted that a decentralised policing structure would complement existing federal security architecture and promote intelligence-led, community-focused law enforcement.

“We are facing terrorism, banditry, and insurgency. But we will never fail to make a right response to this cause.

What I will ask for tonight is for you (Senators) to start thinking how best to amend the constitution to incorporate the State Police for us to secure our country, take over our forests from marauders, and free our children from fear,” he said.

The President commended the cordial relationship between the executive and the Senate, saying that unity is needed to defeat terrorism and banditry in the country.

“It is a good thing that we are working in harmony, we are looking forward to a country that evolves, a country that takes care of its citizens and protects all.

President Tinubu thanked the Senate for its unflinching support towards achieving various economic reforms of his administration, especially the fuel subsidy removal and tax reform policy

“I have a lot of credit for bold reforms. Without your collaboration and inspiration, those reforms would not be possible. We are reformists together.

What we gave up and what we stopped is monumental corruption in the subsidy system.

We don't want to participate in monumental corruption and arbitrage foreign exchange.

“You don't have to chase me for dollars; you could see what Nigeria is today. You should be proud, and I am glad you are.

What we are enjoying is a stable economy, and prosperity is beckoning us. We need to work hard, and this attendance means a lot to me,” the President said.

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, commended the President for hosting the leadership of the Senate to the Interfaith breaking of fast.

He commended President Tinubu for providing the visionary leadership the nation needs at this critical time, stating that the administration's bold reforms have now brought more revenue to governors at the sub-national level for the development of critical infrastructure.

The Senate President prayed for the administration.

He also prayed for the nation's peace and prosperity.

JAMB's Automation of Question-Setting: A Game-Changer for Nigeria's Education System

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has completed the automation of its question-setting process for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), marking a significant milestone in Nigeria's education sector

This move is expected to enhance the quality, security, and efficiency of the examination process.

*What is it?*

The automation of question-setting allows test developers to create and manage exam questions remotely, eliminating the need for physical presence and reducing the risk of human error.

This process is part of JAMB's broader effort to digitize its operations, which began 10 years ago.

*Why is it?*

The automation aims to improve the credibility and transparency of the UTME, reducing the likelihood of examination malpractice and ensuring that candidates are assessed fairly.

According to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the initiative will make the process "easier, cheaper, and less tedious" while maintaining security.

*How it operates*

The automated system allows authors to set questions from their locations, and the questions are then vetted and randomized using advanced software.

This ensures consistency and reduces the risk of bias or compromise.

*Impact on Stakeholders*

- *Candidates*: Expect a more secure and efficient examination process.

- *Universities*: Improved credibility of UTME results, reducing the need for post-UTME examinations.

- *JAMB*: Enhanced transparency and reduced risk of examination malpractice.

*Key Statistics*

- 1,000+ Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in 2026, up from 800 in 2025

- 2 million candidates registered as of February 26, 2026, surpassing last year's figure

*Recommendations*

- Continuous monitoring and independent audits to maintain credibility

- Expansion of CBT centers to accommodate growing demand

- Training for test developers to ensure smooth transition

*Conclusion*

JAMB's automation of question-setting is a significant step towards modernizing Nigeria's education system

With improved security, efficiency, and transparency, the UTME is poised to become a more reliable assessment tool.

Reminder about Yoruba Political Recklessness

This piece is about how hatred for Tinubu and his muslims-muslim tickets nearly wrecked Youba political terrain for Biafra Secessionists.

*On a Final Note*

Nigeria is a Divine Providence and God never mistakes on any issue past, present or future.

God in His infinite creativity, used our colonial masters to create Nigeria and brought us together in our various diversities to be together as a nation Nigeria - meaning that: *in the name of Nigeria, every one should bury our diversities and differences to work together as a nation

But for CBN Intervention for Economic Stability, Naira Would Have Appreciated to N1000 and That's Okay

The Nigerian naira is on a roll, with Vice President Kashim Shettima predicting it could hit N1,000 per dollar in weeks if the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) hadn't intervened to stabilize the market.

Speaking at the Progressive Governors Forum, Renewed Hope Ambassadors Strategic Summit in Abuja, Shettima said, "Our currency is strong and stable.

In fact, if not for the interventions by the Central Bank of Nigeria yesterday February 23, 2026, we are going to attain the $1,000 in weeks, not in months".

The CBN has been actively managing the forex market, and its efforts are paying off. The naira has strengthened to around N1,340 per dollar at the parallel market, and analysts predict further gains.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu attributes this stability to his administration's economic reforms, saying, "But for the purpose of market stability, the CBN generously intervened on February 23, 2026".

*Factors Driving Naira's Appreciation*

Several factors are contributing to the naira's strength:

- *CBN's interventions*: The central bank has been selling dollars to stabilize the market and prevent excessive volatility.

- *Improved oil prices*: Nigeria's oil exports have increased, boosting foreign exchange inflows.

- *Rising foreign reserves*: The country's reserves have grown to over $50 billion, providing a cushion against external shocks.

- *Inflation moderation*: Inflation has slowed to 15.1% in January, reducing pressure on the naira.

- *Increase medical tourism*: in Nigeria due to cheaper health care system in the country

- *Increased Diaspora remittances

Etc

*Impact on Nigeria and Nigerians*

A stronger naira has both positive and negative implications:

- *Cheaper imports*: Nigerians can enjoy lower prices for imported goods.

- *Increased investor confidence*: A stable naira attracts foreign investment, boosting economic growth.

- *Reduced debt burden*: The government's external debt becomes more manageable.

However, a rapid appreciation could also:

- *Hurt exports*: Nigerian goods become more expensive for foreign buyers, potentially reducing demand.

- *Discourage domestic production*: Cheaper imports might undermine local industries.

*Recommendations*

To sustain the naira's gains, the government should:

- *Continue prudent monetary policy*: Balance stability with economic growth.

- *Diversify exports*: Reduce dependence on oil and promote non-oil sectors.

- *Attract foreign investment*: Encourage portfolio flows and foreign direct investment.

*Conclusion*

The naira's appreciation is a testament to the government's economic reforms. While challenges remain, a stable currency can boost Nigeria's economic prospects. As President Tinubu said, "Our economy is picking up".

Nigerians and Voters Apathy: FCT Election 2026 as a Casestudy - Civic Irresponsibility and the Need to Adjust for a Better Nigeria

Imagine you're in school and your class is voting for a new class president. Only a few students show up to vote, and the winner doesn't really represent what most students want. That's kind of what's happening in Nigeria with voter apathy.

*FCT's Voters Aparthy - Facts & Data*

The recent Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections recorded a low voter turnout of 16%, which is up from 9.4% in 2022. This means that many eligible voters didn't participate in choosing their leaders ¹.

- *Eligible Voters*: 1,680,315

- *Total Votes Cast*: 239,210

- *Voter Turnout*: 14.2% (up from 9.4% in 2022)

- *Party Performance*:

    - APC won 5 chairmanship seats

    - PDP won 1 chairmanship seat

*Voter apathy is like saying*, "I don't care who leads us." But the truth is, leaders make decisions that affect our lives, like roads, schools, and healthcare. When people don't vote, they're giving up their power to shape their community.

*Ironies of Our Behaviors*

On a normal day, Nigerians readily brave the elements for a meager 5,000 naira, yet can't be bothered to take a day off to shape their future through voting.

Most pray for a better Nigeria yet won't do the needfuls - what an irony indeed.

This blatant display of civic irresponsibility is not lost on our children, who are learning to replicate this apathy.

We're not just perpetuating a problem; we're handing over the reins to the next generation, unprepared and unaware.

*Some reasons for voter apathy include:*

- *Lack of trust*: People might feel leaders aren't doing their job or are corrupt.

- *Lack of information*: Some might not know about the elections or candidates.

- *Feeling powerless*: "My vote won't count" is a common feeling.

*Consequences of Voters Apathy*

- *Poor governance*: Leaders might not work for the people if they don't feel accountable.

- *Stagnation*: Communities might not progress without active participation.

*To address this, Nigerians can:*

- *Stay informed*: Learn about elections and candidates.

- *Vote*: Make your voice heard.

- *Demand accountability*: Hold leaders responsible for their actions.

In conclusion, voter apathy is a civic issue that affects everyone.

By participating and demanding better, Nigerians can shape their future.

To All Bandits/Terrorists - Whoever Makes Others to Cry Would Also Cry Down to Generations Born/Unborn

*To the government of Nigeria*, solutions to insurgency is easier than your present reactive measures of military interventions that has been failing us since two decades.

Trump's December 25, 2025 intervention, instead of helping had further escalated the crisis.

Meanwhile we abandoned the cashless that  stopped insurgency between January and April 2023, before the supreme Court judgement and Tinubu government brought back the cash that fuels cash-for-ransom activities.

Today, bandits had pursued many rurals to migrate to urbans. Who now farm to feed the nation?.

*Excuse for cashless exclusion no longer tenable because of:*

• Improved network infrastructures

• Cash-for-ransom activities had led to unprecedented mass rural-urban migration for safety.

• Many can now use cashless and those who can't should learn to catch up to address insecurity challenges.

• Fearful experience imposed by insurgency would make people open to cashless ideas, if they know it had worked in the past and would solve the problem

*Revisiting the achievements of cashless policy of the past*

1. The cash-for-ransom activities unconditionally stopped, because no more cash and non of the criminals ready to accept cashless transfer that can easily expose them for easy arrests.

2. The bandits unconditionally released all victims in their custody because no cash to sustain and keep them.

3. The cash in the custodies of the criminals unconditionally distributed on our highways - because old cash no longer tenable.

4. Unconditionally detered the criminals among our security agents from mounting extorting roadblocks on our highways.

5. Unconditionally forced corrupt government officials that hoarded cash to abandon cash in public places.

Above achievement is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria and yet we abandoned it for measures that have been failing us till date.

*Noteworthy*

Bandits/Terrorists are mostly drugies. Druggies are drug dependent and would do anything to sustain their addiction - including risks to their own lives and others.

Drug addicts fear no military attacks nor death - but fear Cashless that leads to easy arrest.

Above as reminder for government to start national campaign indicating cash that fuel Criminalities and Cashless as the antidote.

Because of fear and insecurity imposed by the criminals, many Nigerians would be more than ready to any reasonable solution as easy as cashless to secure our society - Besides many now  use cashless and those who can't can learn - that's better than the present insecure situation.

Exaggerated Claim: Tinubu Slashes GenCos' N6tn Bill to N2.8tn: A Step Towards Power Sector Reform

President Bola Tinubu has approved the payment of N2.8 trillion to power generation companies (GenCos) as the Federal Government's verified liability for accumulated electricity subsidies dating back to 2010.

This decision comes after a thorough audit, which revealed that the GenCos' initial claim of N6 trillion was inflated.

Imagine you're running a business, and you need money to keep the lights on. The government had been subsidizing electricity costs, but the GenCos claimed they weren't getting enough money to keep the power on.

The government disagreed and decided to investigate. After checking the numbers, they found that the GenCos were owed N2.8 trillion, not N6 trillion.

The factors responsible for this subject matter include the government's decision to privatize the power sector in 2013, which led to a lack of investment in infrastructure and a reliance on subsidies.

The GenCos had been claiming that the government owed them billions of naira in unpaid subsidies, but the audit revealed that some of these claims were exaggerated.

This decision is expected to have a positive impact on Nigeria's power sector, as it will help to stabilize the grid and improve electricity supply.

The government has also attached conditions to the payment, requiring the GenCos to use some of the funds to settle outstanding debts to gas suppliers and invest in infrastructure upgrades.

*Key Highlights:*

- *Verified Liability*: N2.8 trillion, down from N6 trillion

- *Payment Schedule*: N600bn-N800bn to be released between May and July, with the balance paid over 12-24 months

- *Conditions*: GenCos must settle gas debts and invest in infrastructure upgrades

President Tinubu stated, "I am not going to pay one naira more than the audited figure".

In conclusion, this decision is a step towards reforming Nigeria's power sector and ensuring that the government's resources are used efficiently.

However, more needs to be done to address the underlying issues and improve electricity supply.

The Key Highlights of the Electoral Act 2026

The Electoral Act 2026, signed into law by President Bola Tinubu on February 18, 2026, introduces several major reforms to Nigeria's voting system.

**The Key Highlights of the Electoral Act 2026**

*1. Mandatory Electronic Transmission:* Polling unit results must now be electronically transmitted to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

However, manual Form EC8A results remain the legal fallback if digital systems fail, with penalties for non-compliance.

*2. Statutory Use of BVAS:

The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) is officially codified as the sole mandatory method for voter accreditation.

*3. Abolition of Indirect Primaries:

Political parties are now restricted to direct primaries or consensus methods for nominating candidates, effectively banning the delegate-based system.

*4. Revised Timelines:*

The Notice of Election is now issued 300 days before polling day (increased from the previous 180-day proposal).

Candidate lists must be submitted 90 to 120 days before the election.

*5. Campaign Spending Limits*: Increases spending limits for various elective positions, including presidential (₦5 billion to ₦10 billion), governorship (₦1 billion to ₦3 billion), and Senate (₦100 million to ₦500 million).

*6. Digital Innovations:* Registered voters can now download their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) directly from the INEC website to reduce disenfranchisement.

*7. Dedicated INEC Fund*: Establishes financial autonomy for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and mandates release of election funds at least six months before polls.

*8. Digital Party Registers*: Political parties must maintain and submit verified digital membership registers to INEC 21 days before primaries.

*9. Inclusion and Accessibility*: Introduces measures for improved accessibility, including queue separation between genders where culture demands and support mechanisms for visually impaired voters.

*10. Stricter Penalties:* Intentional false declarations or tampering with results now carry a mandatory minimum of 10 years imprisonment (without the option of a fine) for intentional false declarations or tampering with results, particularly at collation stages.

*Note that not all electoral offences carry this penalty*—other infractions (e.g., vote-buying, impersonation, result manipulation in general contexts, frustrating electronic transmission, or RECs withholding documents) attract lighter penalties like 2 years imprisonment, fines (e.g., N500,000–N2 million), or shorter terms (e.g., 6 months or 1–3 years in specific cases).

The 10-year minimum applies specifically to severe cases like intentional false declarations/tampering during collation or result falsification.

**The Status of SIECs and Local Elections**

The 2026 law retains the current structure where SIECs conduct local government elections.

*No Elimination:* While there was significant legislative debate regarding a bill to transfer local election powers to INEC following a 2024 Supreme Court ruling on local government autonomy, these provisions were not included in the final signed 2026 Act.

*Limited INEC Scope:* INEC remains responsible for Federal (Presidential/National Assembly) and State (Governorship/State Assembly) elections. SIECs continue to manage local government council polls.

*Caveat:* the new law does not mandate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct all elections, nor does it eliminate State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs).

**Conclusion**

These reforms aim to enhance transparency, strengthen electoral integrity, and deepen democratic governance in Nigeria.

Electoral Act 2026: A final Death Blow Against the Corrupt Delegate System & A New Dawn for Nigeria's Democracy

*Imagine three scenarios:*

1. *Indirect Primaries (Delegate Method)*: A few selected delegates choose a candidate, which can lead to corruption and manipulation.

2. *Direct Primaries*: All registered party members vote directly for their preferred candidate, promoting transparency and fairness.

3. *Consensus*: Party members (*including all the contestants*) agree on a single candidate, fostering unity and cooperation.

The Nigerian government has abolished the indirect primaries method, citing concerns over corruption and undemocratic practices.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed the Electoral Act 2026 into law, introducing direct primaries and consensus methods for candidate selection.

**Reviews of Past Party Primaries Elections**

Imagine picking a class captain.

•In Indirect Primaries, only a few "pre-selected" students choose for everyone, often taking bribes to pick a bully.

•In Direct Primaries, every single student votes.

•In Consensus, everyone simply agrees on one person.

The new electoral law is stopping the "delegate" method because those few people were being "bought" with money, which is unfair.

**BVAS Technology to Twart Rigging**

Think of it like olden days where some election riggers stuff ballot boxes with unaccredited thumb prints.

This new law makes the game board clear for everyone. It uses "magic boxes" (BVAS) and electronic sharing so nobody can swap the results.

In addition the number of people electronically accredited with BVAS must tally the numbers of physical votes inside the ballot boxes - otherwise the votes from that ballot boxes disqualified.

*While many focused only on electronic results, this law brings bigger gifts:*

 * No PVC Stress: You can print your card at home!

 * Prisoner Voting: Every Nigerian voice now counts.

* Politicians are limited on how much they can spend for their respective aspiring positions - among other reasons, to protect Nigerian economy from hyper-inflation.

*Key Highlights:*

- *Direct Primaries*: All registered party members vote directly for candidates.

- *Consensus*: All party members (*including all the contestants*) agree on a single candidate.

- *Electronic Transmission*: Mandatory electronic transmission of results with manual fallback.

- *Voter Registration*: Streamlined requirements and digital membership registers.

President Tinubu signed this quickly to ensure the 2027 rules are set now, preventing last-minute confusion. This happened because Nigerians demanded fairness.

This law will reduce "money-politics" and let the best leaders win.

Our National Assembly showed great courage, and President Tinubu’s quick assent proves he loves democracy.

The National Assembly and President Tinubu deserve praise for this courageous move towards a more democratic Nigeria.

The reform aims to reduce corruption, increase transparency, and empower grassroots members.

*I recommend we all learn the new rules to protect our future. Nigeria is winning!*

Despite All Odds, Tinubu Still Won 2023 Election - For God, All Things Are Possible

Tinubu lost Kaduna and Katsina States right under the noses of El-Rufai and Buhari, then  sitting and all powerful Governor and President respectively.

He didn't win in Kano. Kwankwaso was there

AdeDancer blocked Osun

Muslim-muslim tickets, some Yoruba Churches ensured that Peter Obi got himself into victory in Lagos State. They used members to aid ever cunning and mischievous biafra secessionists to have a field day in Lagos.

Osinbajo, Aregbesola and many of his closest confidants worked against him.

The Federal Government sabotaged NNPC, the fuel scarcity was intractable for months leading to the elections

NEPA was sabotaged so we suffered black out for months leading to the elections

Emefiele's CBN sabotaged currency notes and made life very difficult for Nigerians.

Chris Ngige was his full Ibo self. He sat in the Ministry of Labour and ensured he frustrated and practically instigated the ASUU to an endless strike just to increase the anger on the land.

All these to make Nigerians madder with the ruling party and transfer the aggression to Tinubu.

Mrs. Olakunrin daughter of Chief Reuben Fasanroti Afenifere Chairman was murdered in cold blood around Ondo to generate bad blood in Yoruba land.

In that same Ondo, in Ọ̀WỌ̀ a church was attacked and many worshippers were killed in broad daylight, all of these to generate bad blood.

They did everything to sabotage his campaign efforts.

Some Ibo secessionist launched the most viciously hateful propaganda against Tinubu, the type never known in the history of electioneering in Nigeria.

You did all of that

Yet Tinubu still won.

He was just a private citizen then.

All odds were against him. He wasn't expected to win.

But man proposes but God disposes, the divine Providence worked in favor of Tinubu   to win 2023 election despite all odds.

You didn't know. You were using ordinary eyes to look at him.

It was ÈÈDÌ AND αΊΈ̀FÚN wrought by the by the hands of OlΓ³dΓΉmarΓ¨ himself which caught Peter Obi and he became the single most important and deciding factor for Tinubu's victory.

He made Tinubu's victory possible, inadvertently ofcourse.

Now Tinubu has been President for 3 years and by all standards has performed. He holds the Presidential Powers of Unitary Nigeria's Government including that of Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces. He controls Army, Navy, Air force, NIA, NSA, NPF, DSS etc.

As at February 22, 2026, Tinubu had cornered 31 Governors to his side.

The Yam, Knife, Pot, Stove, Pepper, Salt, Onions, Water and fire are all in his hands in this Aguiyi-Ironsi Decree 34 Constitution we use in Nigeria.

In this corruption-riden Nigeria when most men have lost all sense of  and will fall for money and privileges.

And this man had a knack for selecting the best QUALITY THINKERS, he must have a legion of them in his kitchen cabinet.

This is a man who has ALWAYS won ALL his elections AT FIRST ATTEMPT.

From Senator to Governor to President he has never lost any.

A man who for 27 years has held Lagos State of 20 million mad people running without hitch or interruptions.

You now look at such a man, misjudged and underestimated him, and you think a parrot with cricket voice like Obi can defeat him in an Presidential election in Nigeria!

You are hoping on the two  Kukutes of Kaduna and Arise TV to stop Tinubu.

You are waiting for the expired Atiku who may just have signed a pack with Tinubu.

Continue the killings, las las all men will share garri and go to their mother's tents to drink peacefully.

**Addendum**

*Divine Intervention - To God be the Glory*

Despite these challenges, Tinubu's victory was nothing short of miraculous. Many attribute his success to divine intervention, some citing the role of late monarchs, spiritual leaders, and even his own faith.

But Tinubu himself acknowledged the hand of God in his victory, stating that Nigeria's history would have been incomplete if he had lost the election.

*A Leader of Vision and Resilience*

Tinubu's presidency has been marked by bold decisions, including the removal of fuel subsidies and exchange rate unification.

His commitment to good governance and development has earned him praise from supporters and critics alike.

*Conclusion*

Tinubu's story serves as a testament to the power of faith and perseverance. Despite facing unimaginable challenges, he remained steadfast, trusting in the divine plan for his life.

As Nigeria navigates its complex socio-economic landscape, Tinubu's leadership offers a beacon of hope for a brighter future.

El-Rufai's Wire-Tapping Confession: An Opportunity for Breakthrough in the War Against Terror?

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode believes Nasir El-Rufai's admission of wire-tapping the National Security Adviser's (NSA) phone could be a game-changer in the fight against terrorism

El-Rufai's confession has sparked concerns about national security and raised questions about the involvement of powerful individuals in terrorist activities.

*Key Points:*

- Fani-Kayode suggests El-Rufai's confession could help uncover the networks behind terrorist attacks, including the killing of Brig-Gen. Musa Uba in Damboa, Borno State.

- He implies El-Rufai's actions may be linked to the same individuals who gave Uba's coordinates to terrorists, leading to his death.

- Fani-Kayode accuses El-Rufai of being complicit in terrorist activities and calls for him to be investigated.

*Exposing the Operations of Bandits/Terrorists:*

- El-Rufai's confession could reveal the extent of terrorist networks and their collaborators within Nigeria's security apparatus.

- Investigating El-Rufai's claims could lead to the prosecution of those involved in terrorist activities, including the killing of Brig-Gen. Uba.

- The confession highlights the need for increased transparency and accountability within Nigeria's security agencies.

*Recommendations:*

- A thorough and independent investigation should be conducted to uncover the truth behind El-Rufai's confession.

- El-Rufai should be questioned about his actions and provide evidence to support his claims.

- The investigation should focus on identifying and prosecuting those involved in terrorist activities, including the killing of Brig-Gen. Uba.

- The Nigerian government should take steps to increase transparency and accountability within the security agencies to prevent future incidents.

- *Failure to carry out a proper investigation would be a missed opportunity to expose the network of bandits and terrorists, allowing them to continue their nefarious activities unchecked.

*Conclusion:*

El-Rufai's wire-tapping confession has opened a Pandora's box, revealing potential security threats and highlighting the need for urgent action.

A thorough investigation is necessary to uncover the truth and bring perpetrators to justice. The stakes are high, and the consequences of inaction could be dire.

What Manner of Man is Tinubu? - An Epitome of Perseverance & Sacrifices for Collective Interest

“I had obtained and filled the INEC form to go to the Senate, then I realised that I had a Governorship candidate, Mr Babatunde Fashola, and Obasanjo was the President, determined to win Lagos state.

"I told myself, 'if I go ahead, I will strive to win my seat while leaving Fashola to his fate'.

Then one morning, I called Ganiyu Solomon and told him to follow me to Abuja.

We landed, and off we went to the INEC office, where I withdrew my form and handed him another.

Ganiyu was shocked, he asked me for what sir, I said fill the form, he did and that was how I was able to concentrate in the Governorship election - Fashola won and Gani also won his seat.

We must make sacrifices!"

-- President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

**Big Question**

Among all the coalition and opposition members how many can sacrifice personal ambition for national interest?
