President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has welcomed the official launch of Lebara Nigeria, a UK-backed telecommunications company, describing it as a strong vote of confidence in the country's digital economy and its future as a leading technology and investment destination in Africa. 

 Lebara Nigeria will operate similarly to existing telecom operators like MTN, Airtel, and Glo, offering services such as voice calls, data plans, and mobile money solutions. 

However, *Lebara's focus on affordable international calls and competitive data plans* could shake things up in the market 😊. 

 As a new entrant, Lebara Nigeria might differentiate itself through innovative pricing, bundles, or services tailored to specific customer segments. 

The company's UK backing and experience in international telecom could also bring fresh ideas to the Nigerian market.

You don't necessarily need a separate SIM to use Lebara Nigeria's services. Lebara offers both SIM and eSIM options, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for you. 

 If you prefer a physical SIM, you can get one delivered to your doorstep or visit an authorized Lebara store. 

Alternatively, you can opt for an eSIM, which allows you to activate your service digitally without needing a physical SIM card. 

 Lebara Nigeria also offers a number porting service, which means you can bring your existing number to Lebara and keep using it. 

To do this, simply dial *3535# and visit a nearby agent. 

To activate Lebara on any SIM regardless of network, you'll need to port such number to Lebara Nigeria. 

Here's how: 

 1. Dial *3535# on your Glo/MTN/Aitel SIM. 

 2. Select "Port my number" and follow the prompts. 

 3. Choose Lebara Nigeria as your new network. 

 4. Provide the required details, including your SIM number and other verification info. 

 5. Wait for the porting process to complete (this might take a few hours). 

Once the porting is successful, you can start using Lebara services on such SIM, including dialing *0724# for the Lebara menu. 

Note: Make sure the SIM to be ported is active and not blocked or suspended. 

Also, you'll lose your data, airtime, and other benefits when you port to Lebara.
