Only wise, educated, and open-minded citizens can understand this reform...
During the China Economic Reforms, the Chinese underwent very harsh economic changes.
China Economic Reform even implemented a one-child policy per family.
How many Nigerians can accept two children per family for 10 years? We cannot.
The present hardship in Nigeria requires people's cooperation and patience, yet most are preoccupied with complaining about the purchase of presidential jets and the completion of the vice president's residence, both of which are necessary for national assignments.
I wonder why people are so unreasonable as to suggest that the president of a nation should shuttle on commercial planes and even board economy class.
Meanwhile, the same people see nothing wrong with their religious leaders buying private jets with congregation money.
Reasons for Grievances
- May are still embittered because their candidate lost in 2023 election
- Many are secessionist and want the country to break apart as the only way to have their dream Republic.
- Many are innocent citizens but impatient. It is surprising that many supposedly reasonable Nigerians think the country's problems will disappear within the first four years of Tinubu’s presidency. Some were even calling for his head within the first year.
The so-called experts are also part of these irrational notions. They keep spinning toxic content online and offline because they think Nigeria's problems can magically disappear just because the right candidate is elected, with no time or patience for him to perform.
PBAT has a track record of good performance in Lagos. Why not exercise patience, giving him the necessary support to perform. Our impatient can't solve the problem on ground. Rather can be aggravated and leading back to square minus.
Achievements of PBAT in Less Than 2 Years
1. Student Loan
2. Credit facility for workers
3. CNG initiative
4. LG Autonomy
5. Increased FAAC to all tiers of government
6. Removed tariff for the importation of health products
7. Improved agricultural inputs, though citizens have yet to embrace them for food security
8. Unprecedented infrastructure development: Lagos-Calabar Superhighway, Sokoto-Badagry Expressway, etc.
We are hoping for:
- Tax reforms that reduce the tax burden and achieve all-time high IGR
- Digital economy and e-governance that ease access to business and services from the comfort of your home
- The possibility of 24-hour power
- National reserves aiming for $100B
- Reduction of ASUU strikes
- CBN actively in charge of our forex
- Economic stabilization and prosperity for all
- Food security
- A secure Nigeria
