How many N70 billions can you find inside  N1.5 trillion? More than 21 times.

By Implications it means the FG realized more than 2,140%.

Corruption Exposed

The target of N70 billions was estimated from the past records for education tax. This shows that some people have been stealing and underreporting the figures before now.

The Chairman of the FIRS, Zacch Adedeji, announced that the Federal Government successfully collected N1.5 trillion in education tax, significantly surpassing its target of N70 billion.

He also noted that, overall, from the N19.4 trillion earmarked for the fiscal year 2024, N18.5 trillion had been collected by the end of September.

On Monday, Adedeji shared this information during a collaborative meeting with the joint Committees on Finance, Budget, and National Planning of the National Assembly, focusing on the 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure.

He said, “On Education tax, while N70bn was targeted, a total of N1.5tn has been realised.

“All in all, out of N19.4tn targeted for 2024 fiscal year, N18.5tn was realised as of the end of September, which clearly shows that the target, will be far exceeded by the end of the year.”

Moral Lesson

Let's elect good leaders. Good leaders are the only ones that can tackle corruption.

God bless Nigeria our beloved country!
