Tax Reform should favor those who generate it

Just like:

  • oil favors those generating it,
  • ipob favors those generating it,
  • food favours those producing it,
  • illegal mining favours those producing it.
  • Therefore let VAT also favour those producing it.

There's no state who cannot generate VAT.

Let those who want more VAT also open up their economy and generate it.

It is hightime Nigeria wean itself off the feeding-Bottle economy.

Meanwhile Lagos and Rivers states had gone to court for 100% of the generated VAT should go to where the VAT is remitted - no more sharing between states.

They have both won their cases but FIRS appealed both cases and awaiting Supreme Court decision.

If the tax reform is rejected and Lagos and Rivers won at Supreme Court, then VAT won't be shared again.

Rather every state would only have 100 % what they contributed - no more sharing VAT again.
